the other day i posted a picture of an installation in process, composed of various salvaged items from neighborhood homes that have been demolished, making way for something new-and-improved (i.e.. progress!). i have begun a mutli-media project called ‘neighborhood watch’ where i take pictures, possibly salvage items and incorporate possible narratives of what is occurring or happened. it’s kinda like a time-capsule for the surrounding blocks of our home. as i did research on the locations, i learned that google maps has a timeline function that allows views over time from the first google map picture. thus, some homes that are now gone, are visible, and some new homes have covered over ones that used to be there. thank you google maps! it’s part of my ‘work of body’ theme: lost & found! stay tuned!
