a dear friend shared with me recently some difficult times they were having after a couple of hurtful betrayals from family members. i shared that it seemed they had some grieving to do. then i happened upon this quote. seemed to relate to their situation, as well as my recent work about my ‘lost homes’.

“Grief expressed out loud, whether in or out of character, unchoreographed and honest, for someone we have lost, or a country or home we have lost, is in itself the greatest praise we could ever give them. Grief is praise, because it is the natural way love honors what it misses.”
