In this personal and political presentation, River will share experiences toward (re)creating love and sensual relationships with people in our lives. Drawing on our trans/formation from a (mostly) straight-monogamous-heterosexual-white-male to a trans-identified polyamorous person (a they)—all the while attempting to maintain our deeply connected monogamous marriage—we will reflect on the diversity in sexuality and connections toward an expanded and fluid understanding of love and attraction. Topics will include defining related terms, multiple functions of relationships, various forms of attraction, and communicating openness, with the goal of increasing personal and social awareness about the infinite possibilities in human kinship.
